On immigration, McCain said that he believes there needs to be immigration reform because, “You are never going to have 11 million in the country illegally without having some tough, hard path to to citizenship.”

He added that the border needed to be secured and enforced, and said there’s a flood of Mexican manufactured heroin that is coming into the United States that is killing people.

“I think sooner or later we are going to have to address it, and I don’t know what this president’s priorities are,” McCain said. “But if he said that we have to, ‘Build a Wall,’ which I take in the most figurative sense — not literally build a wall, but at the same time, let’s do immigration reform with E-Verify where you have to have documentation that proves you are in the country legally. Where we enforce the border. Where we let STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics) students stay in this country. Where you provide people a long hard path to citizenship. Those kinds of things could all be put into a package, and I would hope the president would consider it.”

Here we go again. How many times, how many years spent speaking the exact same thing.

When is McCain going to die already. He killed the dream act. I can remember him laughing and celebrating after the vote.

This dude is part of the all or nothing crowd. He already said he is against Bridge act because "we shouldn't only pick the best parts"...

This is still better than the "deport them all" rhetoric that has been going on lately.

Can't believe we are now saying a Senator who is strongly for CIR to "die." Unbelievable. McCain although I agree has flip flopped at times I think is GENUINELY for CIR. He was one of the main guys partnering with Ted Kennedy, God bless that man. We need McCain to warm up a little to Trump.

Yes, but he was instrumental in killing the dream act. He was too butt hurt and took revenge on us.

He has no political power. Trump and other Hawks make fun of him saying he is too old and it's time for everyone to ignore the old man. His election is irrelevant.

Yeah that was a dick move but don't forget even Orrin Hatch (one of the original cospons0rs of DA i believe) and 5-6 DEMOCRATS voted No on Dream Act. In my eyes it were those Democrats who betrayed and stuck us with a big knife in the back. McCain is for FULL CIR. You gotta understand some times politically it just makes sense for a Senator to support one huge bill rather than a piecemeal one.
