Gallego told The Hill that Congress would likely pass the Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors (DREAM) Act because vulnerable Republicans can't afford to alienate Latino voters ahead of next year's midterm elections.

"I hope that Speaker [Paul] Ryan [(R-Wis.)] and Senate Majority Leader [Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.)] will listen to the majority of members of Congress and senators that are right now saying that they want to pass the DREAM Act," Gallego said.

"Going into an election year, the last thing you want to see is a galvanized Latino voter community as well as people that are not Latino but are generally supportive of the DREAM Act."

hmm they aren't really in danger in midterm election. It's 2020 election that they need to worry about.

They may lose control of the house. There are about 20 something Republicans from districts Hillary won.
Also, Dems win with mobilized voter turn out.

Both, I feel, they need to worry about. But yes, between now and the 2020 elections.. many citizens who know a friend, family member, or in any way close to them will turn 18 and be able to vote. But also many people who had no idea this was going on can now vote next year of the cowards who put their friends in danger. The young people are well in the know now so these old fuckers really need to worry.

It means Dems want to pass DA right now, but republican leadership is more concerned with "tax reform"

Although tax reform going to probably increase my taxes, it would be a good trade off for DA

I hope these guys are not thinking that's the deadline. We have 3 months, till December, at most to really get this going. Or the steam will be gone.... we need to push guys!

Yes we need the DA passed in 3 months, because we got lot of support right now, who knows what priorities are in 2018 election.
