I'm not going to post the whole article because i've linked the URL below. Looks like they will demand that the Dream Act by Congresswoman Roybal-Allard has to be part of any deal protecting DACA folks. The important part is that it will cover kids who entered under age 18 so it will help additional people who fell out of the original DACA memo, which was under 16.

This line below is from the actual legislative bill i found on page 5.

B) the alien was younger than 18 years of age on the date on which the alien initially entered the United States;

https://roybal-allard.house.gov/uplo...ct_of_2017.pdf

http://www.latimes.com/politics/la-n...913-story.html

Late Wednesday, Pelosi sent a letter to House Democrats recapping the meeting with the president and reiterating that the Dream Act, sponsored by Rep. Lucille Roybal-Allard (D-Downey), must be part of any deal. She also said that during an earlier meeting with House Speaker Paul D. Ryan (R-Wis.), she suggested a bipartisan Homeland Security bill that could be the basis for the border security package.

Bullet points from Congresswoman Roybal-Allard official site

• Are longtime residents who came to the U.S. as children;
• Graduate from high school or obtain a GED;
• Pursue higher education, work lawfully for at least three years, or serve in the military;
• Pass security and law enforcement background checks and pay a reasonable application fee;
• Demonstrate proficiency in the English language and a knowledge of United States history; and
• Have not committed a felony or other serious crimes and do not pose a threat to our country.

Happy for others who may be able to qualify.

I do think moving here when you are 17 and a half is different than when you move here when you were 5 months old, 2 years, or even at age 10.

Please stop being selfish. Just because you got lucky to get DACA does not mean that other folks who were 16 or 17 should be excluded. Us undocumented should be happy for others and not write stuff like "17 is different than a 2 year old". People forget how lucky they are now and do not want others to benefit, very SAD. Under 18, by law is a minor, does not matter if age is 17 years and 11 months! Please learn to be appreciative of fellow undocumented folks who may gain legalization from this DA bill.

Is not being selfish though, the problem when they start changing stuff to legislation is then it becomes from 800k about to get something, to those 800k not getting shit because "Legalize everyone" or "Up the age cap"..

I came when I was 17 so I appreciate that they changed the age requirement. I have no idea why some people think 17 year old's should be considered an adult. My mom said we are coming to the states and we followed. Regardless of what age you got here, the fact remains our parents brought us here

Bingo! Very SAD how people who now have DACA, don't want other minors whom entered years ago (legally under 18 ) to enjoy the same benefits. Some of us have friends/relatives who sadly were not eligible for DACA, but with this DA bill, they will be eligible. We should support each other!
