"A wide ranging group of House Republicans said on Thursday that they are prepared to work to pass new legislation that would assist those in the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, or DACA, by the end of the year.

"No bill is going to be perfect, but inaction is just not acceptable," said Rep. Dan Newhouse, R-Washington."

I second THAT!

But it does seem to be a ploy so that the Democrats drop their demand to put the Dream Act in the Omnibus. I hope the Dems hold their feet to the fire, because all this talk is great but it won't help us when our work permits expire!

Pretty much, one of the main things republicans do is demand good faith from the other side (you do this and I'll do that), and not keep their end of the bargain.

So it's omnibus or bust really.

House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte (R-Va.) said Thursday that he will not seek reelection, becoming the latest in a string of GOP lawmaker retirements.

Goodlatte, 65, is the third term-limited House committee chairman to announce his plans to leave the chamber within the past week.

"With my time as Chairman of the Judiciary Committee ending in December 2018, this is a natural stepping-off point and an opportunity to begin a new chapter of my career and spend more time with my family, particularly my granddaughters," Goodlatte said in a letter to supporters.

He is part of the daca working group. Hopefully, they all do the right thing.

I hope this helps him become a compassionate human being and help us out!

considering he's extremely anti-immigrant, it's good that he's leaving.,.. maybe they'll finally pass something now that their majority looks threatened.
