As for the wall, a conservative House GOP aide privy to ongoing negotiations told The Daily Beast that “members aren’t willing to die on a hill for [it].”

“Conservatives want the [DACA] issue to go away,” the aide added, “with the caveat that we get border security, ending chain migration, and conservative immigration reforms in return for [DACA protections].”

But there are signs that the president is, indeed, re-calibrating his approach to a conundrum he created himself by rescinding the program last year. Trump tweeted on Tuesday that DACA activists would start “falling in love” with both him and Republicans—a missive interpreted as a sign he is predisposed toward getting a deal done. A source close to Trump suggested that the administration should seek even superficial policy measures that would nonetheless sate the president’s base, even if it means coming up a bit short on a major campaign promise.

During the final three weeks before the holidays, a bipartisan group of senators met every day they were in Washington to discuss a deal. And toward the middle of December, White House Chief of Staff John Kelly attended. His presence was interpreted as a positive sign for the administration’s seriousness in forging a compromise. So too was the absence of another Trump official. Immigration hardliner Stephen Miller, who has been one of the foremost champions of ending chain migration, was not in attendance, an aide confirmed.

The conservative media is already accusing Trump for prioritizing “illegals-aliens” for his daca tweet this morning.

Democratic demands are ambitious, topped by a legislative shield for the young undocumented immigrants whose Obama-era protection from deportation was ended by Mr. Trump. They are also pushing for broader intervention in the opioid epidemic, a boost for veterans’ care, disaster relief to hurricane-stricken areas, and financing for the Children’s Health Insurance Program.

Nothing is agreed to until everything is agreed to,” Representative Nancy Pelosi of California, the Democratic leader, said in an interview on Tuesday.

Representative Nita M. Lowey of New York, the top Democrat on the House Appropriations Committee, cast protection for undocumented immigrants brought to the country as children as a “moral issue,” saying that resolving the fate of the so-called Dreamers was a prerequisite for enacting any long-term spending plan.

But Democrats fear that a stand-alone immigration measure could die in the House or be vetoed by the president. Senator Jeff Merkley, Democrat of Oregon, said Democrats had more leverage if protections were included in a spending package.

“It doesn’t help us to pass the Dream Act and have it be a separate bill that never makes it to the president’s desk or gets vetoed on the president’s desk,’’ he said.

Let's keep hopeful Miller is still out of the loop. Kelly may not really be a fan of DACA himself, and he is one fucking soldier. I am pretty sure he doesn't like Trump himself, but still try to do his job because Trump is the President.

But he is reasonable and will help if both sides keep their cool and work toward a fucking deal.

Build the wall, give more funding to ICE, remove lottery, implement E-verify. I don't care what people say here, but give these shit and we are on our way to a conditional green card.

Sorry. Time for me to live a new life.

This, if DA is separated from the spending bill, Republicans will have the upper hand because of veto power.
