Dreamers are done giving Dems a pass.
“They don’t walk their talk,” said Cata Santiago, a 20-year-old Dreamer who was brought to the U.S. from Mexico when she was just 8 years old. “We’re tired of it. We’re tired of believing them when they say ‘It’s the Republicans.’ They make promises when they’re in an election, and when it’s over they’re done and don’t do anything.”

“Democrats relinquished the leverage they had for meaningful legislation,” wrote Cesar Vargas, a civil rights attorney who has advocated for immigrant causes, in an opinion piece in the Huffington Post.

“Democrats have no plan, and once again, Schumer, now the minority leader, is showing that protecting these immigrants…was never his priority,” he said. “The lack of leadership by Democrats, however, is nothing new. In 2009, they controlled the White House and Congress and still failed to bring up immigration reform for a vote.”

Many Dreamers say that their disappointment in Democrats is nothing new, and goes back some 17 years.
In 2010, they say, Congress seemed close to passing a Dream Act when it passed in the House of Representatives, only to have it fail in the Senate after five Democrats voted against the measure.

Consider the source - It's Fox News. They hate immigrants, they hate immigration reform, and all they want to do is turn Dreamers against Democrats so they can ensure nothing will ever be done.

I am scared to even think about all the comments under that article (if there was a comment section there).

From an objective perspective, Although GOP are to be blamed as well, I also agree with what they said about Democrat, this is what is happening now.

Pelosi just publicly made official statement " DACA does not have to be included in final spending bill", it has to be dealed separately.

Democrat are playing us for all the time. Bunch of hypocrites .

They said to the public about their commitment to include DACA bill in any must-passed spending bill, then what we are seeing is that they keep breaking their promises. They always have their " rational excuse" for doing so.

I am done with Democrat. Fuck all of them !

Remember 5 democrats voted against Dream Act in 2010 caused the bill to be failed.

I will concede that President Obama, a Democrat with balls, gave us DACA. 1 Democrat. I will be grateful for that.

I will concede that Republicans have been assholes to us.

I will concede that Democrats have tried to do more for us than Republicans.

I will concede that Trump is mainly to blame for ending DACA.

However, I will not concede that Democrats are blameless. My problem with them is that their efforts have always lacked muscle. They don't walk their talk.

The fiercest advocates for immigrants in Congress are the Justice Democrats and the Progressive Caucus. People like Pramila Jayapal. They talk the talk and walk the walk.

It is nearly impossible not to feel dispirited and discouraged by Democratic leadership's disregard about the plight of those at risk.

Work with your colleagues. Make it happen. A lot of people depend on you.

They didn't touch immigration when they controlled both chambers bc their focus was healthcare, and it a huge issue back then, they didn't dare touch another big issue at the time, and the republican conference's plan (every single one) was to obstruct. This is something the new dreamers wouldn't know about bc they were toddlers (sort of speak) when all this happened

Democrats want to exploit us but Trump is turning the narrative around to attack them. Ironically, he is not wrong - democrats are not interested in us other than using us as a talking point. Democrats are losing in every round because they don't have strong leadership from anywhere and Obama is simply retired.
