House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi said during a Thursday press conference that she believes DREAMers are the “inspiration” and “pride” of the United States.

Pelosi said she would not give border wall funding to President Trump and Republicans because there isn’t currently a hard deadline to address Deferred Action for Childhood Arrival (DACA) recipients.

“For nothing, would we give for the wall? No,” she asserted. “I mean, what would be our motivation?”

However, Pelosi insisted that Democrats would still oppose the immigration reform proposed by the president even if it addresses the concerns of DACA recipients.

“Let me say this and let me be very clear,” she said. “If the DREAMers never existed — and thank God that they do, our inspiration, our pride, thank God that they do — if they never existed we still have a problem with what the president wants to do with the bill.’

Well let's hope she does agree to a wall funding in exchange for DACA pathway to citizenship.

It's a good move by her. She need to let Trump know that he overplayed his hand and now he's getting shit. It will polarize Trump. He's going to have to drop his ask.

Drop his ask? Yeah, he's just going to sign a clean DREAM Act with nothing in exchange.

Eh, I don't know about that. It wouldn't be "for nothing" if we get a path to citizenship.

I'd like to see all those assholes living day to day not knowing if they'll have a future or not in the country they call home.

How are Dreamers supposed to make big decisions if they don't know if they're gonna be able to stay here in the long run? Right now what Dreamer is gonna buy a house? or open a business? I don't even want to buy a new mattress cause I don't know if I'm better saving those $3,000 for a future in another country.

How about you read up on what he's asking first before you make a smug comment.

Most TrumpTard Dreamers here don't pay much attention to Trump other than his tweets bashing Dems. Aside from that, they don't know or care to know what kind of person Trump is

The WH is in complete chaos, don't expect much to get done from now on. Muller just subpoena Trump organization, Eric Trump's wife just filed for divorce and HR McMaster is getting fired soon.

Don't expect much media coverage for DACA with all these going on. DACA fix is pretty much dead until after mid-term election.

Pelosi flips as much as Trump does. At one point, she promises a clean Dream Act to Reyna from UWD, she later says that Dems will not leave for the Christmas break until they get Dreamer relief, she later supports the shutdown, later she won't hold the line for Dreamers, and now we are the hope and inspiration. Whatever.

Anyway, I get the impression she is very flexible even though she gives a lot of tough talk. I am sure she will cave and compromise if Trump does on a narrow deal.

I hope they can reach agreement, albeit I am skeptical that will happen.
