House Freedom Caucus Chairman Mark Meadows said on Sunday that lawmakers are getting "very close" in reaching agreement following talks about how to legislatively respond to the Obama administration's Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program.https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/n...ts-citizenship

I saw this on TV, also mark meadows is from NC.

Once again proving NC is the cream of the crop.

"I think even in some of the more conservative bills that have been talked about there is the ability to become citizens. And so that's the narrative that's not really out there," Meadows said. "Making sure that those DACA recipients do not have to face deportation and that ultimately they can become citizens."

"Now the debate becomes should there be a special pathway. Should they go to the back of the line, the front of the line?" he added. "The most important thing is to secure our borders so we don't have to deal with this problem a decade from now. I think that's where we're well on our way."
The fact they believe there is some kind of 'line' to citizenship shows they do not understand the issue.

There isn’t some line. Different countries have it easier more than others

In my opinion, they do know this, but they need to say that they "will make DACA go back of the line for citizenship" to provide cover for them with their base.

This Has been my theory. I think trump wants to save DACA. Key word “HE” not Republicans definetly not Democrats. He, wants all the glory. So it’s gonna be a while before both side give up but when they do and they will... here comes trump ton”save the day”. Watch

it's not even them that's the real problem as we've seen. it's going to be convincing enough dems to vote for a republican-based bill in the senate or it'll just be 52-48 again.

I see it as them pushing for a permanent DACA and then saying we aren’t barring them from citizenship (but good luck finding a way to get there).
