The Arkansas House has approved legislation to enable people in the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program to get nursing licenses.
Quote:
The House on Monday approved the measure by a 90-0 vote, sending it to the Senate. A spokesman for Republican Gov. Asa Hutchinson said he supports the measure.

I think this is great news and a big win for dreamers in Arkansas, mind you 76 members of the Arkansas house are republicans.

Most like they are for it because they get "pressure" from the industry.

Not out of their kind hearts.

90-0 in favor of DACA recipients.

Wow. All of that in a very conservative Southern state!

The real republicans actually care about labor and labor force. If there's a need for labor they have no problems as long as they pay taxes. You can even see it in Koch brothers.

Look at the debate between George H. W. Bush And Ronald Reagan about immigration in 1980

Imagine that Arkansas is more progressive than the Federal government. Bill Cliton, king of the women, and Bill Clinton's Wife, are both from Arkansas, that's what type of dumpster fire that place is.

I guess you can say all sides got some of what they wanted...

Gov. Hutchinson signs DACA bills, plans to sign anti-sanctuary cities legislation

Quote:

Gov. Asa Hutchinson announced his decision to move forward with signing a bill that would financially penalize communities that adopt sanctuary city policies
Quote:
This came just after a jubilant signing ceremony of two bills proposed to benefit the immigrant community including those protected under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program.

The bills provide eligibility for DACA recipients to pay in-state tuition rates (HB 1552) and the ability to receive nurse licenses (HB 1684).
