The new version of Form I-485 was published yesterday where you can apply for both cards on the application saving time. The filing fee for I-485 will not increase but there is a processing fee for the social security card. Both will be mailed once approved.

that is because social security admin offices have been closed since COVID. I lost my SS card and literally had to mail in my EAD card and it took then 7 weeks to replace the card. It is a new level of messy!

How? If we already have Socials? Also would they replace the “only eligible with EAD” to regular I wonder?

Yeah I had to replace mine for other reasons. Though in my case it only took two weeks, likely because my local office isn't really busy serving a city of like 50k and some surrounding ones that probably don't add up to 100k.

If the I-485 is for a 10 year green card, yes. Dunno what they issue to conditional permanent residents.
