Sen. LINDSEY GRAHAM (R-SC) just now on DACA — "We gotta restore confidence that any legalization deal is not gonna be undermined in the future by just open borders. What Biden did by just obliterating any semblance of controll at the border made it difficult to go back to constituents and say, 'Let's make a big deal.' Now the one guy who can restore that confidence is Trump, and the fact that he mentioned DACA is someone encouraging."

I think we won't strat hearing about immigration bills until summer 2025 t. The biggest priority is the border and deportations and the next is the reconciliation bill.

I think the GOP is going to ask for major asylum changes in exchange for Dreamers

Lindsey Graham, member of the failed Gang of Eight for Immigration that never got anything meaningful accomplished.

The latest BS always sound good. It's a dopamine hit to balance out the thrill of all of it being ended.

For those saying "we've been hearing the same BS for 20 years", ya'll better take comfort that at least we are in the discussion. Right now they are going nuclear on just about everything, they don't have to come out and give us any reassurance. Biden and Harris didn't even mention us until the end of their term when they needed the Latino vote.

DACA status quo under Harris would have been better than being at the mercy of the 80 year old, elderly Orange Man and a Congress that is totally useless. Harris would have been a stellar president for other issues too. Trump is going to make America into a trailer trash tier country.

"Same shit, different toilet."

Y'all are going to be extra mad at UWD in 2 years when it's midterms, Trump is about to be a lame duck, and the majority R Congress, R controlled SCOTUS, and Trumpy do nothing for Dreamers.
But... but... the Democrats and UWD!

If you truly believe Harris would have been more effective in handling DACA, then why did she fail to take action during her four years in office? Let's not mention the last-minute executive order Biden signed just to appeal to Latino voters.

We constantly rely on Democrats to save us, but have we forgotten how they blocked the Dream Act in 2010 when they had the power to pass it with Obama in office and having Control of the House?

Yes, they gave us DACA, but it was a rushed decision to secure votes, not a genuine effort to help us. They made numerous mistakes out of desperation, and it was Obama who initially did not even want DACA; he had to be persuaded by then Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.

Supporting the Democrats is one thing, but to expect them to magically solve our problems if they were in charge is unrealistic. DACA is at risk with the Supreme Court, and Kamala's lack of respect was not going to help our cause. Chuck Schumer was not helpful either. He has made it clear that "Dreamers cannot occupy the entire stage," in his own words.

Republicans would not pass any relief with her involved. She mishandled the border issue and was a weak leader. While I appreciate her as a person, I do not see her as a competent leader.

Perhaps we have a better chance with President Trump, as he knows how to get things done. We just have to wait and see how that turns out.

Do you know how to read? Let me repeat myself:

DACA status quo under Harris would have been better than being at the mercy...
Harris would have been a stellar president for other issues too.
