No word whether he had his EAD and I-797 with him during the arrest. Might've helped or might've not.

But to think we, any of us, might be held for weeks even if we involve lawyers and organizations is absolute bonkers.

Can you afford to take "ICE vacation" perhaps months long?

Yikes!!!

What part of "white nationalism, authoritarianism, and Project 2025 is the playbook" do you not understand? God, you are so dense.

It's going to be 2028 and you're going to make a post here like: "guys, I don't think MAGA is good for immigrants"

We have an Einstein among us!

You seem to be the resident Project 2025 guy around here.

Tell me, isn't dismantling DACA part of this project that lives rent free in your head?

They just continue it. No reason why it has to end.

I think i could hold it for a few weeks though I'd be eating all the food up. I think my job would understand. Not everyone is so fortunate. There are some where 3 no shows is job abandonment.

Maybe a lawyer might help recover lost income, but who knows. With the courts being so dodgy nowadays. They probably have some exception somewhere.

30+ days of ICE vacation will def make you lose a job and income for a month.

But it is not a death sentence.

It will be hard. But overcomable.

Hopefully, once you're in and out, they won't be detaining you anymore. So you can breathe easy from then on.

Overall chance is pretty low. They can't detain every single 500k DACAs. They got like 50k total capacity for all undocs.

Nothing stops them from detaining you again afterwards.

If they release us without deportation, that is a loss in their books.

Why deal with a loss again?

Better to seek out a deportable one.
