President Obama Talks about Immigration With Univision

Pistolero:There are many students as we speak listening to this show. Will you bring back the DREAM act and would it be part of your priorities in your first year as president?

Obama: As I said before, the DREAM Act is something I have been a sponsor of in the past. <b>Dick Durbin, my senior senator from Illinois and I have worked diligently on the issue</b>. I was a supporter of the DREAM act when I was in the state of Illinois and we were able to get it passed. I think it is the right thing to do. <b>I think</b> it is something that I will continue to work on.

I dont think it really matters that obama pushes dream act as much as it would if a senator introduces it. Think about it: Majority democrats, obama will sign the bill if taken to his desk, the dream act's trouble is passing through the House and Senate. If it passes through both then its taken to Obama's desk. I think our concern should be that someone in the senate like Durbin introduce the dream act now, and start the process of a bill becoming law (reading the bill before the senate 3 times, printing, cloture, passing it to the house, house passing it with cloture, then to obama's desk to sign it to law).

According to Senator reid CIR should be intro before sept. lets hope the dream act is intro before that.

The Dream Act comments quoted on that show was made on Feb. 2008 when he was still candidate Obama. Go check the date of the

The Youtube video of the new El Pistolero sounded like they just talked about immigration reform and didn't specifically mention Dream.
