Senate Agenda: The Blog????

I've been thinking about turning the The Senate Agenda thread into it's own blog. Right now, the Senate Agenda thread is the third most viewed thread at DAP behind the legalization and In-State Tuition threads even though those two threads started in 2007 while the Senate Agenda thread started in 2009. So there's definitely interest in what the Senate is doing. I was also thinking that maybe other undocumented people, not just Dreamies, might be interested in such a blog since the Agenda Thread is about CIR and Dream.

What do you guys think? Good idea? Not a good idea? If you think it's a good idea, what blog hosting service would you recommend and what would you like to see in a revamped Agenda blog? If you don't think it's good idea, why do you think so?

Any input would be appreciated.

I think it's good idea. This way those that want in-depth detail of how things in DC are moving along will know. I don't see anything wrong with the idea in my opinion.

I've always wondered why it wasn't made into a sticky. This is THE single most important piece of information when trying to figure out the time table for immigration reform.

I hope you're in charge of it though.

This is a terrific idea, just make sure it can easily be found by new members and lazy people like who just like to click a link.

Go for it. I suggest you have a team of bloggers for this. I volunteer :).

Oh wow, volunteers already! If I do decide to go through with a blog, send me a PM or post on this thread if you want to be a guest or regular blogger like Abaddon.

We'll give it another day for more feedback and for the survey.

I'd be open to the idea of guest-blogging, but I'd probably be too partisan.

I would love to contribute!

p.s. Don't worry angeleno, I will go fair and balance on you and your nazi-communist propaganda infused by your attachment to Obama Bin Laden. See in character already!

I have no problems with bashing Republicans :).

From the survey, it looks like people think a Senate Agenda blog is a good idea so I'll go ahead and try my hand at blogging!

I'm thinking the blog will be a continuation of the Senate Agenda thread and what the Senate is up to but it can also talk about other topics like vote projections or book reviews/TV show/documentary reviews on politics and policy. I recently read Thumpin and it was a pretty good book. Nixonland beats it though and it's such a good book. PBS Frontline's Sick Around the World is also excellent. I'll start thinking about other stuff to write about too.

For the volunteers, what do you think you want to write about? Don't have to answer right now but start thinking about it!

I'll go ahead and start building the blog. Hopefully, the blog will be up next Monday.

I want to be a guest blogger too (serious part of the sentence)...i will bring the "wetback" point of view to this whole issue (that was the joke of the sentence)
