Approval question
First, I'd like to say I've lurked here since the DACA announcement and got a lot of useful info here when it came time to fill out my application. Thanks to everyone here helping people.
Just got a letter telling me Employment Authorization was approved and I got the card that expires in 2 years. My question is, will this be the only thing I'll need to apply for work? Do I have to apply for a SS#?... already have ITIN. I thought I'd get 2 letters and more details, but maybe since it's Saturday, they got split up. The letter I got had very little information along with its good news and (almost fake looking) card. |
Re: Approval question
Yeah you need to apply for a social security number

Re: Approval question
yeah you need to apply for a social, the itin is for tax purposes only it clearly states that on the itin, not valid for work

Re: Approval question
Go to your nearest social security office with your EAD and birth certificate and ID apply for a SSN the office will then verify your documents with DHS meanwhile SSO will give you a print out that you have apply for a SSN and you should get your card in 2-4 weeks... Depending on your state you will be able to apply for a state ID with your the letter from SSO! Good luck to you and congrats on your approval! :)
