I can't come back because I self-deported myself. I left the U.S. summer 2011 and from what I read I should be able to apply.

Yeah who knows. I'm mean I'm in college, paid all my taxes before I left the U.S., graduated high school there, I still have some family there. It would be interesting to find out.

Yes, you can do it from the U.S. and send your application to the embassy in Washington D.C. If you don't get it dont worry nothing is going to happen. (Unless they find you have committed a felony...

Even if you have the money they can still refuse to give you a permit, but you still need the money anyway.

one of the requirements to get a student permit is to have been accepted to a Canadian institution. It won't increase your chances because it is something that you need to have in the first place....

I don't have a problem with high taxes if you ask me. The U.S. is my first option too because I considered it as my homeland . Hopefully one day ill be able to go back., but im facing the 10 year...
