It's not us, but the American people in general who deserve an apology from the govt. for being a barely functional entity, for serving special interest groups instead of the people, for sticking to rhetoric and partisan bickering and being the catalyst for dividing the people rather than uniting them. If the govt. functioned properly, the contributing 'illegal' immigrants wouldn't be an issue at all. They'd just fit into the society and do their thing.

Illegal immigrants got the shortest end of the stick simply because everyone else got the short end of the stick.
