Saying that we deserve an apology sounds like spoiled brats.

Be it our fault or not, we broke this country's laws and we paid the consequences, but we were given an opportunity to stay, study and go to school. We should be grateful, not have the mentality that this country owes us anything.
This whole "entitlement" politics is the right's way of saying don't get too "uppity", it's part of a political strategy to cut down social services and keep worker's from asking for more benefits. I don't agree that we are owed an apology because that is not what we're after. We just want to be seen as equals in accordance to the law not marginilized by being called illegals, anchor babies, criminals, unAmericans or whatever wedge politics comes to the mind of a xenophobic base. The message we're trying to send is that for the large part, Americans agree with our cause just how when Reagan passed amnesty and gain a lot of votes, or how Obama passed DACA and gain popular support. Im tired of a blaming game and want to see congress support the ideals of this nation of immigrants. It's not political suicide to accept a pathway to citizenship.

This I'd love to see happen. Especially after AZ Dreamers were granted DACA and they still aren't able to apply for a DL/ID. That's racism right there. Will it ever happen? Probably not.

It's not us, but the American people in general who deserve an apology from the govt. for being a barely functional entity, for serving special interest groups instead of the people, for sticking to rhetoric and partisan bickering and being the catalyst for dividing the people rather than uniting them. If the govt. functioned properly, the contributing 'illegal' immigrants wouldn't be an issue at all. They'd just fit into the society and do their thing.

Illegal immigrants got the shortest end of the stick simply because everyone else got the short end of the stick.

I liked the article, even though its not perfect. Its nice to see that some people still think its silly for the goverment to feel like they own the country. By the same token I feel its silly that people "own" land. The land is not ours, maybe its this sense of entitlement that lets people abuse natural resources. Obviously I don't see this article as a political one. Its just wishful thinking from someone that is trying to grasp some sense of the perfect world.

Something about the tone of this article really bugged me...

Anyway, I agree with many of you; I don't think we are owed an apology...just please pass the DREAM Act :P.

Lmao yes we deserve an apology from a country who is trying to deport people not authorized to be in its lands

Imagine going sneaking into a club and then demanding an apology from the club for trying to kick you out because you don't have authorization from them to be there

This article does more damage than good I hope you guys can see that

Just like African Americans weren't authorize to sit in the front of the bus.

At least that's what the author is saying on unjust laws.

Now it'd be stupid from them to try to kick you out when you paying for all your drinks and contributing to their business, just 'cause a few cockblockers say you are taking all the girls from them.

I say make this a no-cover bitch as long as everybody pays for their drinks and let the girls choose who they go home with.

Not the best analogy ive read.
