I did a topic on what constitutes your legal name and what is the proper method for taking out identifications later on after you have been accepted to have your name appear as you like it(under legal means). I've been out of the country this summer and through various border patrol checkpoints. I've had my background checked for jobs and much more as well. Zero issues through all that so I can say with confidence from experience that the info I provided in that thread is true(if you want your name shorten), although I had already cited sources for it.
