It is mind-boggling that anyone is even considering this approach, yet these people are actually still trying to pretend that they are doing it with a straight face, and then there is of course Menendez that you can always count on to say the most idiotic thing: buddy, are you sure that pushing the priority date all the way to 2020 will be enough and include enough people? Don't you think we are morally obligated to expand the net and also include people who haven't yet made it here but just have that desire in their hearts? Don't you think that would be the fairest of the fairest?

I am absolutely fucking disgusted that after more than two decades in this country and what I would honestly describe as completely wasted life, the approach revolves around an actual pardon. People do shorter sentences for actual murder, and more importantly know how long their sentence is going to be when they go in.

People in our situation are without question at the very, very bottom of the entire social structure in the US, and in all my years I have never felt it more than in the recent years, and ironically it had nothing to do with Trump or the typical right-wing rhetoric, as their arguments pale in comparison to the dangers of actually getting stopped and deported in 2005-2010 era. No, what makes the current situation so inconceivably awful is that every persecuted group that has emerged - regardless of their approach or the little validity there may have been behind their grievancese - got waved ahead of us to become the new cause celebre for self-righteous social warrior in this country. I have now witnessed the mentally ill - regardless of how irrational their beliefs may be or their grievance being with the universe itself - have become way. way more important and in need of consideration than group with a size greater than populations of several countries, combined and who ironically does not air their social grievances at every chance, but instead simply wants to....live

I am done. and this time I am done for good. I am done with Daca renewals, done with following some bullshit immigration news that never amount to anything, don't with this never-ending sense of anticipation thinking that maybe it will be this year. To those of you that are on the younger side and can afford to partake in this awful game for a few more years, I truly wish you the best of luck. Unfortunately, for many people my age, DACA proved not to be the miraculous salvation we were hoping for, but at least for me, this dream feels to be finally and truly over.
