Hi to all. I read somewhere that if some kind of CIR bill is introduced one of its objectives would be to shorten the very long times that it takes for persons to get a visa in order to be reunified with family already in the US. Does anyone know more about this??

Like some of you I have been waiting for my visa number to come up but because I was born in Mexico you can imagine the wait time it is to get a visa (currently 15-20 yrs)

I just checked the US State's department visa bulleting and it seems outrages that the first preference category (the one that I am in) is more than 10 years behind the Second preference category and is 3 years behind the Fourth preference

As side note If Dream does not pass this year I think that for most of us (under 245i) the only way to become legalize is through marriage but being in the situation that I am in I have a very tough time approaching the opposite sex being that I would not want them to know that I am illegally here. Furthermore, it is even more complicated that as of now I don't have a car and can bearly make it through the salary that I receive.
If any one out there that is in a similar situation as me and was able to get a girlfriend how were you able to explain the sutuation that you were in. Did you find that by revealing your situation turned girls off, (in general)??
Please give some advice in dealing with this suation.

Let us all pray that the DREAM ACT passes

Chances are if a girl is into you, your legal status wont even matter. Ive had girlfriends come and go and i had no problem explaining my situation, its best to put it out on the table, and if she sticks around she's obviously does not care. plus, no guts no glory, you gotta put yourself out there. And don't get a head of yourself about thinking about marriage and things like that, when you find a girl just chill with her, be her friend, have fun. and if so something comes from it then cool, if not, its a learning experience. be confident in yourself that you can bring more to a relationship than driving her around and paying for her ish.

it will pass!!! and i agree when someone truly cares about you they wont care about your situation and will support you in any way possible, if they're shallow on the other hand, then they'll stay away. and trust me you don't need people like that in your life.
