We are seriously building momentum to DREAM with our media stories. Keep them coming!

I read this a couple of days ago and got so excited when I read that the girl was a member of NYSYLC. Great job, guys!

Wow, that article was so good. This was my favorite part just for the pure irony of it:

Quote:
But the young woman so adept with numbers still lacked the Social Security number needed just to file an application for a job or summer internship.
NYSLC gets mentioned here:

Quote:
Though overqualified and underpaid for the job, she rarely complains. Instead, she and her boyfriend — a college student from Mexico who is also in the country illegally — spend their free time volunteering with the New York State Youth Leadership Council, an immigrant group pushing Congress to pass the Dream Act, which would grant legal status to high school graduates who were brought to the United States by their parents.
Hopefully, we'll get immigration reform this year.

great article. it still amazes me how legal citizens dont appreciate how much they have when their family members are in a hostile position. i dont know how they can throw so much away while their families are dying to obtain the only thing that makes them different.

Not surprised that the younger brother wants to go back and live in Ecuador. I know quite a few people with dual citizenships and say that, life is beautiful outside this country. People actually socialize among each other, unlike the US, here every family is so to their selves. You actually breathe life in the atmosphere. But only one thing lacking in those beautiful countries, the mighty dollar bill.
