DREAM ACT on Despierta America

Univision has an education campaign (eselmomento.com) and featured Dream Act beneficiaries and a graduate professor/author on Despierta America this morning.

I'll try and find a clip, but just thought I'd let you guys know about the coverage. William Perez, author of We Are Americans, and two undocumented college students (shout out UCLA) were discussing DA and the difficulties that we face after high school.

Lisbeth, one of the young women featured, was able to go to school because of AB540. She went to community college, transferred to UCLA and is now applying to go to law school. She worked and went to school full time. And she made a 4 HOUR bus trip each day she attended classes.

Mr. Perez talked about the misconceptions that the American public has about undocumented people. He specifically said that they think that we take more from the economy than we give. He also talked about the contributions that DREAMers and their parents make.

They covered the requirements, and the work they've done to try get the legislation passed through DreamAct.com. The website is inaccessible at the moment, though.
