I really need a car and I recently bought one, and I wonder what kind of "id" I can use if a policeman stops me. I have my passport (no visa on it obviously), and my scvhool id. I could also get an id from my country, but that might take a loooong time.

Any suggestions... PM if you want to too.

Thanks.

which state r u residing at? all depends the level of enforcement based on the state, police officer, and your luck. In texas most get away with MX matricula consular or find an officer with a good heart and just get a ticket.

Eh... well. Your school ID and passport should be fine. However, and I'm sure you already know this, you need to be extra careful. Avoid big avenues, if possible, and try not to act nervous in the event that a cop car should be driving near you. The majority of the time, when a cop car begins tailgating you, the officer is simply checking the license plates. If the car isn't stolen and everything comes up clear, the officer should just go his way. Well, unless you're driving is sluggish/suspicious. Just keep cool. I'm not sure what state you live in but if you live in a state that isn't too immigrant friendly, I'd just commute on the bus or train.

from experience and living in southern california.. been pulled over just today actually and also was caught up on a sobriety checkpoint one time with myself driving about a year ago. a passport and some sort of school id would be good to have. an international drivers license would also work if you can get a hold of one.

just be really careful driving. IF you get pulled over from the advice of peers and from here.. stay as calm as possible. im not sure how things are in kansas, but a little research and self study on how the surrounding works would help you out.. also pay the fine so it wouldn't go on your record. IF you get pulled over. JUST BE REALLY CAREFUL.

Drive safe at all times! No speeding! No excuses! If you don't give them a reason to pull you over they wont, and if it actually happens, worst case scenario is they'll impound your car, and ticket you for whatever mistake you made, and for driving without a license, it's just a big inconvenience, but it could be worse, no?

Either way, carry your school ID with you when you drive, the officer will definitely want some type of ID if you're ever pulled over.

BE SAFE! Take care!
