..about whether or not it is a good idea for me to apply for the nursing program here. They do background checks and I'm a little worried about whether or not they'll see my "lack" of documents. My appointment with her is in about an hour, do you guys have any ideas as to what I should ask her?

SO far I'm thinkin:

Is it a good idea to try to apply for the Nursing program here?

or should I try elsewhere (like in a different school or state)?

What are my chances of getting hired if I continue on like this?

Do you know of anything I can do to help alleviate my situation?

.. I dunno, i'm having a brain fart. Help?

here as in where?

There have been a lot of posts here about undocumented students actually being able to get into nursing programs. Def. talk to your health counselor.

As far as getting hired, the chances are ultra small, but schooling takes 2 years I think(depending on whether you go for LPN or RN)

hey don't give up. it is definitely a good idea to talk to a counselor and let them know how much you care and that you are wanting to find a way to get into the program. i got into the nursing program, and had no problems with the background checks, but i do have a social. if you don't, maybe they can track you using other personal information? I think you should try to get into that program if possible since eventually any program would need to do a background check. i think they mainly care about your criminal record anyways. best of luck!

Well, def talk with your counselor and don't worry too much, just try it. I graduated from a nursing school 3 years ago and i haven't be able to find a job in the health area. The background check it quite simple, they are going to ask you for a SSN, just let them know you don't have one, and that is it, just keep on answering their questions.

yeah...I just got in and they will do a background check online. I actually go online and answer some questions and then pay for it. They told me it would be good to show that I live in the same address for at least 7 years (in the same state). That is all I know. I haven't filled anything out yet, but I will.
