I KNOW THIS DOESNT HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH IMMIGRATION "YET" BUT DO YOU GUYS THINK THIS COULD HELP OUR CHANCES

WASHINGTON – Al-Qaida mastermind Osama bin Laden is dead and the United States has his body, a person familiar with the developments says.

President Barack Obama is expected to make that announcement from the White House late Sunday night.

The person spoke on the condition of anonymity in order to speak ahead of the president.

I don't think it would have that much of effect on immigration reform per-sa but this might boost obama's reelection bid which i guess can help his agenda, even though it was most likely the commanders the soldiers in the field more directly responsible. but it is truly a big moment in America. Almost 10 years, can you believe it?

No republicans will win the white house on 2012 thats for sure. Obama now has a shit ton of political power and might even have a chance to pass an immigration reform before 2012

Regardless, it's good news and a great victory for our country. Politically, it's good news for Obama. I can see this somewhat helping our cause, if in fact it does anything to it at all.

The same question runs through my mind. Let's see what type of impact this historic event has on immigration reform. Congratulations USA--especially the family members of the victims of the 9-11 and other attacks that Bin Laden is responsible for.

It has a lot to do with immigration, don't forget that Collin Powel & Castañeda were very close to have an immigration agreement in 2001 (before 9/11)
Obama will have even more political capital now and if he want's to expend some of that capital with CIR his chances of passing CIR will increase dramatically.
