Hello all,

I am probably going to attend a community college but I want to know some information about loans, if you have to be a citizen to receive loans from banks, lenders etc. If I ever needed a co signer, it would be my uncle who is a u.s citizen.

Hey, This is a very difficult issue for us. These are the few loans that I've heard some people have had success with.

https://www.wellsfargo.com/student/loans/
Wells Fargo Student Loan for Parents

CitiAssist Student Loan

I would start by doing research on the Wells Fargo Student Loan for Parents. I remember applying for this one. My application was denied. The reason why it was denied however was the credit of my cosigner. It wasn't because of my status. Try that loan. You will have to have your cosigner call and apply by phone because I don't think the online application would accept a Tax ID number. If anyone else has experience with this loan, please provide your input as well. Good Luck!

I applied and got the wells fargo loan for parents, my co-signer was my sister who is a USC.

There are more details about this loan including a pretty detailed analysis of everything I went through, the terms of the loan, etc., etc., in the following link

http://dreamact.info/forum/showthrea...s+fargo&page=2

and you may ask me any other questions that you may have regarding this loan.

A few years ago...the citiassist program had a good loan program. On the application, there was even an option for the student to put no SS. You definitely need a co-signer though for any of these loan programs.
