What are the odds it will be overtuned? When the U.S Supreme court decide to hear a case how long until it is brought up for a vote?

hmm I really don't think this is going anywhere. The changes have to be made by state law. That is what we're seeing today with the movements in Illinois and other states and frankly the going is good. The momentum is ever increasing. State wide push will eventually bring about federal DA..god knows when but it is going to happen.

IF the supreme court allows it, its basically giving a free ticket for the Dream Act in the states. The federal gov will hear the roar of the most powerful branch of the government. The supreme court cases have been very important throughout history, these are the cases where laws get to be called "copycats" and if we can get this instate tuition for other states congress will only have the option to pass the bill. Yet, if they say its unconstitutional, we are pretty screwed, unless Obama pulls a bin laden.

The justices in Washington may announce as soon as Monday whether they will hear the challenge or dismiss it.

I doubt if the justice would hear the case because the case hasn't gone through the lower federal court yet. Besides, many state supreme courts have upheld the law. I don't see how the supreme court would want to hear it. Besides, the law was very carefully drafted to avoid any conflict with the federal laws.

So, stay tuned !

Uhhh.. SCOTUS has been rather conservative lately. If they choose to hear it, I'm afraid that they will ban in-state tuition. GFDI..

If they do decide to hear it I bet they will conclude that it's up to the state who gets in-state tuition...

I don't see how it is unconstitutional, most likely the Court will rule to keep the bills in state, since they do not violate ANY federal laws.
