They don't know about something that doesn't affect them. Thats why to truly have a brain is to have a heart first and open up to the issues even if they dont affect you at all. Have a heart, Rick Perry is right about the GOP.

Yes...they know marriage = green card, but that's all.
They don't know that they also have to go thru some qualifications (financial, criminal background, etc....) to even petition an alien for a GC. In other words, they can't just marry an illegal and sign some papers. They'd have to meet some criteria too for that whole thing to work.

You know the funny thruth, an average American won't even be qualified to migrate here in the US if they weren't here already. Easy for them to say "go back and apply the right way" though. Such ignorance, I tell you!

yeah it frustrates me because a lot of them literally think that its as simple as going to your nearest ICE office and saying " May I please get a green card" If it was really that simple we would all be legal by now

Yup...I actually know some USCs who tried to cheat their way into petitioning some of their foreign fiances. Unfortunately, when it comes to breaking immigration laws, all eyes are on us. When push comes to shove, the migrants are always the easy targets.
