Chile and South America info.

So I been reviewing the immigration system in Chile and it looks like as a Mexican I won't have to many problems to immigrate to that country. There is a retirement visa that you can get as long as you show a monthly income of 1000.00 us dl or more.

The country is business friendly, conservative for Latin America and with almost no corruption. My question is do any of you know what sort of problems I would encounter there. I have grown all my life in the USA but I speak and write Spanish as a native since I did my primary education in Mexico. Also money won't be a huge problem for me since I could leave my house rented here in the States. I made the math and I can live with that money. Anyway if any of you have info it would be greatly appreciated. I'm not looking to go anytime next year but it definitely looks like an option.

Yeah I have met backpackers who have been there here in Mexico. Supposedly Chile, Argentina, and Uruguay are the most developed and safest latin american countries.

Uruguay is ghetto, Argentina well I remember them running around slaughtering horses because they did not have anything else to eat. Chile, from what I've heard is pretty dope.

CB124 how did you transfer money to Mexico? Could I transfer money from a bank in the US to a Bank in Mexico?

You can open a Mexico bank account in the US, you could just use your US account and withdraw money too. I think if your bank is Citigroup, you have rights to transfer money back and forth with Banamex for free.

As far as Chile goes, they told me that they saw Shawn White the snowboarder spending the US summer there to train. They were skiing and saw him at El Portillo

Is there limit on how much I could transfer. If I sold a house in the US you think I could transfer the money to a Mexican bank. From what I read if I have the money in a Mexican bank, I can used it in Chile without a problem. The ski resorts in Chile are another reason why I like the country. I love snowboarding and chile would be a great place to do it.

I always assumed one needed to be present in mexico to open an account down there.
