Hi Everyone.

I got a traffic citation (driving without license) and now I have a court date in Massachusetts.
I am really scared because I don't know what could happen. This is my first offense and I am really scared.
I know the penalties in MA for driving without a license is a fine. But, can the judge ask me about my status, or why I don't have a license? I have no idea what to expect. If anybody has ever been in the same situation, any help is appreciated.

There is no fee. You get a citation and later receive a court summons to appear.

This is what happen to couple last November. I was driving without seatbelt and no driver lincese
Long story Short I git 2 tickets and a court date. I showed up before the judge , he explained my rigts and asked if I need to see a lawyer. I had a 2 minutes talk with the lawyer that the judge told me to s go see. Then he asked if was driving without seatbelt or driver lincese. his advice was to menot to get caught driving in the next 4 mouths and my recold would be clean again and to confess to the judge was guilty and pay the fines. .. that was my plan all along , I didnt need to pay him $150 bucks dumb me wanted to play by the rules and what not.

Another thing if you dont have enough money to pay , ask the judge for a payment plan because there are like lot of court fee you need to pay($180 dollars plus the tickets)

Good luck use your best judgment.

Well, once I had to go to court because a pothead drove into my car. I was caught without a license and no insurance. I was scared as fuck because my insurance had expired 3 days prior. To make it short, I did not get any fines, the girls license was revoked, and they paid for my new car. I think I was just extremely lucky.

The only thing I was asked was?

Why are you driving without a license?
Can you get one? (She suspected I couldn't)

I merely said no, then she said okay you are done.

No ticket, no fine, no community service, no nothing.

I love Illinois!

Haha. Where are you Johann?

I got into a little fender bender in Lisle and had to go to court in Wheaton. Essentially the same thing:

Judge: "Why don't you have a license? Can you get one?"
Me: "No judge, I am not eligible for one."
Judge: "Okay, well don't get caught again. Pay the fine. NEXT!"

*kissed my $500 away* *breathed a sigh of relief* *walked out*

It was in Worth, which is south of Chicago. I am glad you had the same experience. That was my only encounter with the police ever. I have been driving since I was a fresh man in HS and I have never been stopped. I drive pretty confidently, I think people like us have developed incredible driving abilities since we are always constantly scanning the roads not for not pedestrians, but for cops. I have prevented a lot of accidents with this super awareness I have when driving

If this had been in Georgia, I would be in Mexico right now.

I look at all my mirrors like all the time when driving, hoping to avoid cops at all costs.
