I think that that there are lots of dreamers that came in the US legally at first and have at least one parents who was a resident before they reached 18 years of age. I believe they should have an opportunity at residency because prior to the september 11 attacks these Dreamers just had to pay a fine to adjust status. After all these years I think it's safe to say these dreamers didn't come to harm this country and came because of their family who legally entered the country and have a parent that is a resident of this country. These Dreamers where already on their way to a path of citizenship but september 11 changed everything for them. They had to leave the country and subject to a 10 year penalty from entering which is not an option for these dreamers. To leave their families, loved ones, education and not being guaranteed to come back is something dreamers or any human can't take a risk to try.I really believe Rubio should consider these individuals and let them have a path to residency because they where already on their way before when it was stolen by the tragedy that hit this country years back.

Stfu with the "I want citizenship and a greencard"! Take what you get, and stop complaining about his bill not doing enough. if one were starving and someone had a bag of chips but only gave you one, isn't it better than having starved with nothing? Be grateful and supportive.

It does legalized the dreamers with work, drive and school according to the previous articles. You can still get a pathway to USC then without leaving the country and getting a 3/10 ban. There are Dreamers who already have a petition from their parent and/or sibling.

Not if the beneficiary is 21 and over.

You do realize that Rubio's bill is not going to pass right?

House is in grid-lock right now. Nothing's going to pass..

So where do you come up with silly remarks like we should include pathways..

Based on what assumptions that it will not pass? This is a GOP bill also.

I did but it is a GOP bill and they would need to pass this to get Latino votes for the elections.

If DA does not pass before the election then Obama and his party will sweep the election including senate and house like in 2008 which means DA/CIR will pass anyway by early next year.

Any bill that legalizes us (even without residency) is good (as long as it doesn't leave out the older Dreamers as previously mentioned in the other thread). One of the issues right wingers use to justify their opposition to the Dream Act is the Anchor Baby fear that if they give you a green card or citizenship, the next step you'll take is to bring your whole family here.

Whether you'll do that is up to debate-many of you as with me have family members who are already citizens or residents and many of you will absolutely sponsor family members, but this will take it out of the equation and at least now if you wait for something to happen on the residency front, your life will not be on hold. You can get a job, drive without fear, get married to someone you really want to be married to, travel, etc. Your parents have their own struggle, but they made a choice - you didn't. Take this.

It probably won't even come close to passing for another couple of years anyway, but still...don't poopoo it.

I agree. Dreamers should be banned from sponsoring anyone for life. What happens to the Dreamers that have their parent petitioning for them currently? I hope the application does not have to cancel out. The I-130 that is.
