Nothing to get too excited about; those over 18 need not apply.

This is horrible, this just lowers the standards even more for an eventual dream act. How can democrats expect republicans to embrace a broad dream act now? For all we know Rubio could even be studying this attempt and lowering his own standards too. Ever since this Paleaz girl toured DC(and met Rubio) the dream act has gotten ever stricter and harsher.

How old is Daniela? 18 right? Given the current status of congress, by the time this STAR ACT are finally getting votes in senate and house, I bet Daniela will have her 18th birthday already.

I'm wondering if Rubio's act will have some similar age limit as low as 18, I'm almost 21... this sucks

This is what Daniela Paleaz herself said, it doesn't leave me hopeful at all.

"Daniela Pelaez, the North Miami Senior High valedictorian whose possible deportation caught national attention, met with Rubio in Washington, D.C. last month and told Univision News that the senator was also concerned that the age groups covered by the original DREAM Act were too broad.
“Those were the biggest concerns for him,” she said."

I seriously hate that girl now.

Don't worry about it too much Stars act is DOA, Although David Riviera could be working with Rubio to introduce his Dream Act in the house. this guy also created the ARMS Act which everyone on this forum was going crazy for a few months ago, face it we can only have one bill that addresses the desire of dreamers and the desire of the politicians.

This bullsh*t STARS Act will not pass, this young lady and her folks are getting played but don't know it yet. The STARS Act is way too narrow to make a good enough impact in terms of granting legal statuses to the young Undocumented population in the U.S.

There is no logic behind putting an age cap as low as 18.

I sincerely hope this bill burns. Theres no way this should pass at all (atleast i hope it doesnt). There are people who have come here younger than her, smarter and way more successful. Something like this passing decreases the chances of the Dream act.
