Is there anything in place that allows people to re enter the united states. All the pictures of work permits have a not valid for re-entry? Is there such things as a work permit that IS valid to go abroad even if it is for a short period of time?

Some people are allowed to travel under advance paroled I-131 but you can only travel to your native country and for emergency only.

The document that ICE just released stated that they will still decide whether we will be allowed to travel abroad or not. That plus the work permit would make my life complete.

If I receive deferred action through this process, will I be able to travel outside the United States?
USCIS is exploring this issue and will resolve it in the coming weeks as part of its implementation plan

The problem is synchronization. If you came with a visa and is banned for 10 years for overstay, it is very highly possible that with the work permit, your 10 year ban is still effective (it begins by the time you reach your homeland).

Many in-place adjustment applicants actually have more than one warrant issued. Good laywers will fight all of them, trying to make them into one single issue, and then lift all the bans for you. The short-answer is no, unless the new policy actually removes all the bans from your current warrants.

Yes, I would really love to be able to leave the country at least for a week or too. Sometimes my job offers to go to Canada to deal with customers, of course I always have to decline with the excuse that I am too busy with school etc...

Deutschland!!! I have learned a lot of French and some German on my own. I would love to be able to visit even for a week. Sigh, I would like to go visit my family in Mexico too. At least my grandma was able to get her B1 visa and can visit us.

What Txgirl says here is accurate and should be followed!

What?Seriously your interpretation of immigration law is simply wrong. The immigration bars do not come into effect until you leave the United States based upon what evidence DHS has!!!

The work permit does NOT allow you to travel but the Advanced Parole approved document would or I-131.Please try to understand immigration law a little better before trying to explain it or it could cause mass confusion and hysteria which is really not needed now.

That's what I said. Read again, bro. I said that even with the work permit, you are still subjected to ten-year ban if you overstay your visa. It is there, but the countdown doesn't start until you leave the US.

No one said with work permit you can travel around the world. Be careful when you read people's statement.

I think we still cannot travel abroad because we will run into the 3/10 year ban.

Having an advanced parole does nothing for you if you have incurred more than a year of unlawful presence.
