No this is not a Romney cheer section but the President believes he can get immigration done in the next 4 years if re-elected.
Quote:
Mr. Obama told Scherer that in addition to getting the nation's fiscal house in order, there are a handful of other big issues he expects to be addressed in the next four years.

"I think we can get immigration reform done. The time is right for it," he said. "We used to have bipartisan support for it. That will continue to be a top priority for me."

He also said Washington should be able to make "a lot more progress" when it comes to energy policy. On top of that, he said the government should focus on rebuilding infrastructure and government reform.

The president said that if he is re-elected, he expects Republicans to cooperate with him more.

"I believe that in a second term, where Mitch McConnell's imperative of making me a one-term President is no longer relevant, they recognize that what the American people are looking for is for us to get things done," he said. "So my expectation is that there will be some popping of the blister after this election."

Obama only talks about immigration when its election time. Nothing got done last 4 years. Dream act was a rushed vote in lame duck session of 111th congress. Nothing will be done in the next 4 years either.

No point. Republicans hold the house.

Well considering we got DACA, it shows that they're not at least just words. It's no Dream Act, but it's much, much better than nothing.

It is, but TBH - immigration has always been the third rail in politics and a political tool. Obama could have done this a long time ago. He's only doing this now for political reasons. And I *love* Obama.

He was losing Hispanic voters like no other, the polls weren't good. Then Rubio came out. Republican were about to really gut the Latino vote out.

Someone needs to bet me $10 on this wave of Dreamers.... I bet we will be approved in time for the elections.

Sadly enough, I slightly agree. Whatever though, if the Dream Act passes in 2016 to help the next Democratic candidate, so be it!

I hope Obama wins. A lot of people are so unhappy with him that it scares me he won't win. I pretty much grew up here and this is the only country I know. I'm encouraging all my friends and even girlfriend to vote for Obama. I wanna get married but it's too soon because I'm not financially ready yet
