Hello guys,

So I have 5 more courses left to take to graduate in this fall semester. The problem is that I haven't had any internships in my college years and my resume is literally not attractable even for me. My plan is to postpone my graduation until next year and try to get at least one internship complete and even get a full-time job by then. But everyone I know is pursuing me to graduate first then take intership/get a full-time job. Do I sound too absurd?

If you can find an internship, go for it and postpone graduation. If you can't find any, then I suggest you graduate. Once you get out of school, you'll be out with experience. You are more likely to stand out among others.

Without a degree, you're just some guy who went to college for a few years and dropped out. Nobody is going to care that you almost graduated. A lot of things change in life too that can keep you from graduating along with tuition and other costs going up. Always graduate first.

I delayed my graduation an extra 2 years. That allowed me to have an internship for those 2 years and to study abroad next semester. It was a great decision.

Try to do some internship before you graduate. Most internships are given to students. Once you graduate, you won't be eligible. It is very difficult to find jobs without experience. So you will be stuck in a limbo, graduating without experience to apply for jobs. But it is doable, as I've done it. It's hard though.

I don't know where you live but there are plenty of none paid internships out there for new grads.

I'm still trying to figure out in what universe is an unpaid internship of more value than a college degree. I get that it will help get your foot in the door, but once it's in, they're still going to ask for a degree if it's a job worth interning for in the first place. I'll play the old man card here, but I've seen many people leave college to pursue something else and never come back to it again. Maybe they get knocked up, maybe they knock up their GF and have to get married and can't do the internship anymore AND they can't go to college anymore. Maybe tuition shoots up and they can't afford it anymore after a few years. Maybe the curriculum changes.

maybe just other stuff gets in the way

finish what you have, you never know what the future will be, then look for entry level jobs
