I'm new to this whole immigration process, but today I got my I-797C Notice of Action saying that my app will be routed to the Texas service center. Someone told me that Illinois residents (like yours truly) get sent to the Nebraska one. Is that always the case?

Also, is the Texas service center slow, or are all the service centers the same?

Majority of the people here from Illinois got routed to Texas. It may look like Texas is slow since there's only 40+ approvals on this forum compare to other centers. However, I think the approval timeline are almost the same for all service centers since there are more applications coming in.

Seems only those whose application was received in August got routed to Nebraska from IL (we only know one person from IL who got sent to Nebraska, and his application was received in August). Everyone else was sent to Texas.

Yes Texas is slow...and they were the last ones at approving applications. So hang in there! I know the waiting game gets stressful and frustrating.

According to USCIS' website illinois residents' applications are routed to Nebraska but seems like most were sent to Texas for DACA. I was just approved in about a month and a half which isn't too bad at all. Not California-service-center-fast but TX seems to be approving at the same rate as VT and NE.
