Soo.. I have my biometrics tomorrow (11/06) at 09:00 and i'm super nervous. i don't have any reason to be since i've never been detained, arrested, or have been booked into the system and been fingerprinted, yet i'm still scared.
i am pretty paranoid and overly cautious though, especially when it comes to legal stuff. i had a friend tell me the biometrics took only like 10-15 mins. was it like that for everyone?

also, i might be getting a little ahead of myself since i haven't gotten approved yet or anything, but are there any restrictions with the EAD on where you can/can not work?

Don't be nervous people there are really nice. I just filled some paper then I was called then done. It was really quick.

Theirs no restriction where you will work im sure. Why you think theirs a restriction where you wanna work? You want to be the secretary of Mitt Romney??

Pretty sure we won't be able to get any jobs which require a security clearance at the federal level. Not that there is an explicit restriction, but definitely an implicit one.

haha for mitt romney, no thank you!

my goal however is to work for the government eventually though, but that won't be until much later in which hopefully i won't have to worry about any restrictions about anything.

in the mean time i wanted to apply to work at hospitals and offices, etc. i just wasn't sure if our EADs came with restrictions or if any EADs in fact came with restrictions. but that's awesome they don't

When you go in, they will ask you to fill out a form. After that, you wait until you are called to get your fingerprints and photo taken. There was no line when I went, so I was done in five minutes.

That's what the EAD looks like. You can see that in the Terms and Conditions, it is stated "None."

That's how the SSN card will look like. Since it says "Valid Only For Work Only With DHS Authorization," you must present employers the EAD along with it.

thank u for the reference
i know what a ss card looks like cause my brother has one (he was born here), i didn't know the one we get says that though.. well whatever works. as long as we get to work, drive, and other things we are now allowed to do.

the biometrics was quick and painless. i was expecting a full on metal detector like at the court houses, but it was just one security guard in a regular "cubicle type" office. now the hard part of waiting on the results begins for me! *crossing my fingers and toes*
