I have a valid DL that expires in 6 years,so I think I am going to keep that one for now though having my state own one would be nice. What are your plans for those who have a DL?

Keep it or get a new one. Logically it would make sense to keep your current one than get a new one that expires in 2 years but what are you thoughts about this.

I've had my out of state license 5 years now and doesn't expire till 2014. I'd hate to give it up coz it was always there for me when I had nothing. I know I sound like an emo but I've gotten so used to telling people I'm from Michigan (when I'm really not) and I've even had to fabricate quite a few stories for my friends who don know about my status.

Just keep your out-of-state license till it expires and I'd rather get a State ID in the current state you live in. In case they ask for for identification for jobs or other stuff.

Great ass idea but in FL it's illegal to have two state ID's on you.

I got a full paid scholarship to (university in the state where you get your license from) and in order for me to keep that option available I'd need to claim residency in (state). I moved back (current state you're living in) because I can't handle the weather or I miss my family way too much but will go back soon probably in the Spring to finish up (but really when I get my shit together.)

Keep it in a place where it can be hidden. No one has to search you unless they have probable cause.

yeah I think in Oregon its illegal too but I know people (actual legal people) that have too and their excuse was they owned two houses and live in house for a few weeks and the other for a few weeks. I would like to keep my WA DL as it wont say 2 years and is "normal" and I would hate to explain to people why its 2 years only if I get a native one here.
