Approved with arrest record, jail booking...

I was approved today and I am solely creating this thread to let you know about the circumstances of this case relative to a criminal record and hopefully it helps or relieves some stress from those with similar issues.

When I was 17 I was arrested and booked into the adult jail. My fingerprints were taken. The charge was possession of marijuana less than one ounce (long story). It is considered a Class B misdemeanor here in Texas with a punishment of up to 6 months in jail.

Fortunately about two months later the charges were dropped, but obviously I was already in the system and the arrest still on my record. I sent in my criminal record of any arrests I had had (only one) and the disposition signed by the judge and DA which stated that the charges were dropped. Also, I have two tickets for no DL and one for no insurance on my record.

Drug convictions are very frowned upon by USCIS, but fortunately I did not receive a conviction and USCIS was understanding about the circumstances. So I hope this is helpful to anyone who has not applied yet or is worried about a similar issue.

Thanks a lot guys. I was actually expecting an RFE because of my record. I was busy putting up my Christmas lights at 5:30pm when I got the text from USCIS. I wasn't expecting an approval or RFE from Nebraska 'till a month from now. So it was a shocker.
