I'm trying to determine my tax withholdings. As I understand it, nonresident aliens pay higher taxes than residents, but I'm not sure which category us DACA beneficiaries fall under: nonresident aliens, or resident aliens?? Can anyone help?

^this is so not accurate.

And what are you talking OP? I've never heard of this?! Ugh when it comes to taxes people really need to stop spreading misinformation. You might be referring to EITC or EIC aka earned income credit and if you meet age, filing status, income requirements then you will get that credit. However, like I said in another thread no one can tell you with this much information wether you will actually see this money in form of a refund or not.

Also we all pay taxes..

Non-resident aliens and resident aliens have a different meaning under IRS than they have under USCIS. You are a resident alien.

We all have to file status regarding of status and income. Since we don't have a SSN we are given ITIN.

That answers 0% of the OPs question.

Thanks, this answers my question. I was wondering if DACA beneficiaries would fall under the resident alien category bc we all presumably meet the substantial presence test. Turns out we do.

For people who thought I was misinformed: Under US Tax laws, resident aliens and nonresident aliens get treated differently. Nonresident aliens are granted only one withholdings whether married or not. And they are also taxed as though making a few dollars more than they actually are. So this is a big deal.
