17h from ead and i have it all.

I can't believe that i have it all done. Just got my EAD yesterday @ 10a.m and by 5Pm today, i was done. EAD ,SSN today @ 9:30am print out, and ID 10am (on its way) and DL permits passed and Driving test done sameday4:20pm Passed . so DL also on its way. All done in less than 48hours.

OP, it's pretty cool that you didn't have to wait that long to get your SSN. I had to wait exactly a month. What bullshit that was.

I don't like that part because he used a double comparative and all caps. Such is the life of a grammar Nazi.

what the fu@!...1 month ... really the hell they were they doing. probably nothing to tell u that BS. lady in my SSA told me i should wait 48 to 72 hr for a printout but that it takes SSA around 24hr to issue a #. so i took her word and tried my luck 24hr after applying and what do u know i got a printout. all she told me was comeback tomorrow worst that can happened is you loose 30 min and come back another day.

Not every SSA place in every state will give you a print out that soon even if your number may already be available.Also, not every DMV seems to take the print out as proof of SS#.

What state do you live in?

Every SSA is required to give you a printout if requested though, it's written down in the guidelines somewhere, if you know where to look.

How did you take your permit test and behind the wheel test all in one day?

i took the written test in El Monte ,CA and i guess i just got lucky. I asked the instructor if he had any openings for the day. 2 people had called to rescedule so he gave me a chance had to wait till the end thouh~4:30

Congratulations. I just started my journey... I received the EAD on Wednesday, and applied for the SSN on Thursday. I should get it in the mail within 2 weeks.
