Example of John Deere application. Please read Question 3.

Questionnaire

To help us better know you and further assess your qualifications for this position, please answer the following questions as accurately as possible.
1. Are you currently in F-1 Visa Status?(An F-1 Visa is granted to foreign students attending school in the U.S.)
Yes
No
2. Are you legally eligible to work for John Deere and other employers in the U.S. on a regular or full time basis?
Yes
No
3. Will you now or in the future require sponsorship for employment visa status due to changing employers
or for any other reason (for example: H-1B, L-1B, EAD, I-20, I-485)?
Yes
No

I asked my lawyer about this and his said that we do not qualify for sponsor ship? I saw this twice, with Intel and John Deere. Some companies don't even know what an EAD is? The HR from Intel at the Career fair though i was lying about the ability to work in the united states( hahahahaha) , she said she need time to research what an EAD was. I even showed my brand new license and EAD to Intel HR, she said they needed to do research. Interview with HR at Cummins also did not know what an EAD was. Any one running into the same problems with companies? Any suggestion on what to put for question 3? Do i put no?

1st and foremost, your status, is your private business and yours alone.

2nd, as long as your EAD is valid, then you do not need to be sponsored by an employer.

at most, i would, when asked if you can legally work in the US, answer YES. because you are. then when and if, you file the I-9, take your EAD.

a DL/ID and your SSN should be all that is needed when applying for a job.

also, most of the time an EAD is referred to as a work permit. but unless asked, like i said, you dont need to show it.

Cool thanks for the info. Yes I understand but most times they ask or go through a list, then I have to say EAD.
