I heard of a suggestion about dreamers fasting from food or drink or something ahead of the June immigration meeting in congress and the white house as a act of solidarity. Fasting for a future and against a sentence of medocrity if the dream act does not pass.

This will bring the attention we need and the highlight the real seriousness of this issue. how many dreamers are willing to fast to get this act passed?

i am willing to fast, but would this really make a difference? i mean, it would if the media captured all the effort, but if we dont all show up to this place no one will know what were doing. so would this be a good idea?

Yes we would have to get the media involved and let them know that kids are fasting during the summer because they seek the dream act to pass so that they can be eligible to go to college and have a real life.

Who is ready to do fast and get the attention needed in conjunction with letting the congresspeople know that that kids are fasting for the Dream Act? This will show how important we feel this is and highlight the desperation that is seeping into the lives of innocent students.

Any other ideas should be suggested.

I'm sorry but I just don't see how fasting is going to make any difference. I highly doubt anyone cares if we eat or not.

Fasting for equality? It could work but only if we got the media involved. I'm all for fasting but we can organize it so that the media gives us some air time?

MLK, Gandhi, the current journalist in NK are all fasted. It is a way of getting attention and letting the world know that injustice is serious.

Yes media attention is the key and it is something the media pays attention to.

It's an original idea but I don't know if you can get a large enough number to get us attention. Also what if no one wants cover our story? Starve for nothing.

When it comes to doing the tough things, we have to be willing to do it. Calling senators and reps alone did not do the trick in 2007. Maybe fasting and going everyday at 12:00 pm in front of harpo studios or another symbolic place quietly saying a prayer or singing a song or singing the national anthem in unison will bring the necessary media that we need.

New thinking, new tactics = new good results and DA

See the problem with that is that I don't think we'd be safe from deportation, making ourselves seen in public like that.

Sadly, the best way to make DA pass is to make ourselves public. If you are a estranger that wants a free load, it is easier to deny you. After all, why should you have the same chance that my USA citizen kids?

Another very different is if you are a son, a daughter and neighbor a member of the chess team/congregation/football team. You are part of this community so we cannot let you go.

There is no mistake as to why MAGraduate and Matias show their faces everywhere. We need a face right there to show them that we are part of this country.

That does not mean to put a t-shirt saying you are an illegal alien and go and get your groceries. It means to be willing to be brave and show that we are not aliens when it counts. Plus, I appeared in Univision Sacramento two years ago, Gabe just appeared on the news and nothing happened.

I freely admitted to my former high school teacher and to all the member of my organization that I am undocumented. It was really scary and at some point shameful, like I am less than them. Still, it is better because no longer this is about the poor undocumented people, it is about one of them. It is also empowering because I am not less than them and I my crime not amoral.

Honestly, the enemy went around with their own key congress staff allies and said that we were claiming to be citizens while calling and writing. Although it is a lie, us calling, faxing and writing is not enough if we do not have the support of others that will call, write and fax with us.

I know many of you cannot go back to your home country. That is not everyone and it will be an act of cowardice to attach myself to a desperate group just because I am afraid and ashamed. Plus, who say that ICE grabbing and dropping me in five hours Tijuana is not extreme hardship? Still, if we are not willing to do calculated risks for the sake of our little dream community and ourselves, then, we can wait forever for Dream because it will never happen.
