It seems that they are catching up with the applications. I just checked on the USCIS website. It went from August 31st 2012 to 6 months. I had attempted to do a service request over the phone before but they always denied it.
I called USCIS today and explained that my application had been submitted way over 6 months ago so they opened a service request for me.
It would be worth a try, if you have been waiting for over 6 months since you filed.

doing a service request doesnt speed up your case. it only inquires about the status of your case. usually you'll wait 15 days for them to tell you that your case is either still under processing time or that they are working on cases in the order in which they are received.

i applied back in sept, did my bios in oct and i'm still waiting to be approved. not trying to be negative just realistic.

It does make sense what you just mentioned. Then what is the purpose of the service request? For them to get one of their brilliant and caring agents to narrate me the online status page?

There is no purpose for DACA applicants, it hasn't affected anyone's wait time. And yes basically.

Such is life.

pretty much. it creates some what of a paper trail on when you inquire about you case as well.

i know, with my case at least, i was issued a RFE back in April and my 60 days for that is up June 8th. if i'll be able to make a service request on June 9th, who knows. and who knows it will even help. i'm hoping that i'll get approved before then but we'll see.
