So yeah he said i won't be getting it back till the court date oct. 17th. I have to renew my license the 15th how is this going to work? I'm confused any replies would be appreciated. The ticket is for not making a complete stop at a stop sign...nuff said

Uh....can they do that? lol.

I can understand if he couldn't give you the ticket on the spot so he takes the license and makes you go to the police station to pick it up and he gives you the ticket there...but I guess he did it so that he makes sure you go to court to pick it up.

Apparently you can still drive your car, but you must carry the ticket with you as proof that you have a driver's license.

Yes they can take your license, but they could mail it back to you before your court day or you could ask the judge if they could give back your license, as of now if you drive and get caught it could be very bad for you since you don't have a license to drive.

So what I found out from a quick google search is that when you receive a traffic offense, you have to post bond, which means you have to pay a fee, 90% of the bond will be returned to you upon going to court for your case.

Another option if you don't want to pay the bond, is to have your driver's license taken away, which is what happened to you.

If the officer let you drive off after taking your license, then there must not be a problem driving without it, since the license it still valid. The ticket will be your proof that you have a valid license and it was taken away by the officer.

I hate it when your side by side another car and you both come to a stop sign, then they just roll the stop sign and take off.

This is what happened to me at stop sign. This ghetto chick wanted to go first. I sped and went first across then she stopped in middle of intersection. B**** you need to wait. She wouldn't dare to hit me. She was all talking crap and flipping me off. I was cracking up.
