So I applied for a private loan for PA school with both Discover and Wells Fargo Med Cap. I sent my DACA documents, but they're essentially saying that it's not good enough.

Wells Fargo is saying that my EAD expiration date is before my expected graduation date so that's holding my application status right now. I did explain that it can be renewed, but I need to show proof of that..any ideas how i can prove that?

Discover is being stubborn and asking for specific immigration documents that I obviously don't have...They did say that I could get a I20 from my school and that within itself would be good enough. Getting the I20 from the school seems doable, but not sure if I should do it.

Finally, if Discover and Wells don't work out, do you guys know of any private lenders that recognize DACA with a cosigner?

Oh man.. This is concerning to me, too
I got accepted to pharmacy school and planning to attend for Fall and I was looking for either Wells Fargo or Discover student loan. When I asked Discover customer representative, EAD would be fine but they certainly don't know what DACA means. Hearing your situation makes me worry about my chance too
Btw, how do you even get I-20 if you don't have valid student visa, isn't that against the immigration policy? I thought my best chance for school loan was Discover since I also have account with them.. but I want to know more about this in detail, too
Keep me posted about your status and best of luck to you

This is what I would have to fill out.

http://www.nova.edu/massmail/oia/i20_information.pdf

And these are the simple documents I would have to provide.

Your thoughts?

I20 is for international students which you are not. Talk to your school advisor or the financial aid and see what you can do regarding the I20. These loan companies think that we are international students and are also not educated on DACA. Didn't I read a thread here about a guy who works at Wells Fargo. Try contacting the guy that posted the thread and ask her/him what you can do. I am sure you can get a loan from Wells Fargo.

Sallie Mae does not allow you to get loans anymore. I tried in December of 2013 and they changed their policies.

Thanks for responding Chyno. Well I applied with Sallie the same way you did providing what I could. lol We'll see...

I'll go ahead and contact my financial advisor. However, I'm not sure how I should go about it. Any suggestions?

I would tell the advisor your situation. Tell them you are trying to get a loan and the loan company is asking you to get an I20 document. The advisor will then tell you that they are wrong, you do not have an I20 document. After that, call the loan company and tell them that you do not have one. Start from zero, but now you have proof that you do not have an I20 document.

Unless I am wrong, the advisor may give you an I20 document.
