Anybody ever get temporary ead post expiration?

I've had a service request in for an interim ead that a l2 rep put in for me about 10 days ago. It was updated today saying the request was complete and that they sent me a response in the mail.

I think I've read that this temporary ead is a myth and a L2 rep once told me they're never issued. I'm awaiting to see what I get in the mail now. Has anyone else had this experience yet?

The do not issue interim EAD anymore

They basically outright lied to people by saying they will issue interim EAD if they take longer than usual to renew your EAD.
