I'm the only one with DACA. What do? :'(

Mom's a PR. Brothers are citizens. All older than me. They all got this status after I turned 21. I'm 23 now. Recently I've been making enough money that I want to use some of that money to travel, friends invite me to cancun for spring break, nope can't do it cause of uhh...work yea thats it. Friends invite me to Europe, "aaah someone needs to be home to take care of the family sorry"

I know most of us are in the same boat. Fucking sucks. Seriously considering moving to Canada and...being illegal there too I guess.

Just venting here lol.

How can you not be bitter? Some people our age is either coasting through college with no direction. And/or stunting on social media.

Here I am, I'm drinking energy drinks like water. Just to maintain three jobs and school, that I pay for myself and out of pocket.

It does make me bitter as well, but then again, what good is a green card if you're a f**k up at life?

What we all do will pay off some day I'm sure.

HAHAHA! My words exactly.

In all seriousness though, why not travel within the US? Everyone around the world kills to get a tourists VISA just to see the US, and you want to go visit other countries?

Not saying that the US is the best place to visit, but it sure as hell has AMAZING places. Go around ... there are infinite places, and best of all, it will cost you MUCH less.

The whole succeeding/moving on idea comes down to two factors I think. Luck and hard work. You can get really lucky and make it out OK without working particularly hard. You can also work really hard and get very unlucky. Then there is everything in between.

The point is the only thing one can control is the working hard factor. Work hard to create opportunities and set yourself up for success. That way when luck comes along you are ready to capitalize and make the most out of it.
