Anyone here have issues opening a new line with ATT? I have Verizon currently but I moved and service is awful now. I tried opening an account with ATT and the rep told me my social is a work social and when the system checks it, it always denies it. I obviously told him it wasn't a work social, but he said I'd need a co signer. Anyone run into similar issues?

Just to be clear, I did see him entering my social into the system, so it's not like he refused to try it.

How long have you had credit? How's your credit? If you had credit for less than 2 years or have bad credit, they can deny you a line.

It wasn't due to my credit score though, it was solely due to the fact that our social is different. Same way you can't lease a car (unless it's toyota or something else).

I opened an ATT account almost 2 years ago, no issues. I even got 5 iPhone 6's through them, again to issues. Then about 6 months ago I got their U-verse TV and Internet without a hiccup.
I suspect it does have something to do with credit.

I would suspect that too but I have 750 FICO across the board, plus the guy at the store said people with socials like mine always have issues - he didn't even want to run my credit... We'll see, maybe I'll try calling Equifax.

The score doesn't matter if your credit history is relatively new.

I have an AAoA of 1.5 years and my oldest account is 2.5 years. Surely good enough for a line at ATT lol

its better if u apply online, even if they dont have exactly what your looking for you can always pick something similiar then call and have them change your plan, i apply at the store yrs ago and they deny me same day went online and got approved
